About the Award
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) presents awards annually, based on feedback from students, instructors, and designated pilot examiners, that are subsequently reviewed anonymously by a panel of industry experts. This award recognizes flight schools by region, across the country, that consistently deliver top-notch instruction and create a supportive and effective learning environment for their student pilots. Awards are presented in several categories at both regional and national levels, including Best Flight School, Best Instructor, Distinguished Flight Schools, and Distinguished Instructors.
